Portland DIY, Crafts, & Sewing Blogs
Hi friends! I’m Amanda and A Crafted Passion is a momma’s guide to a creative life. I love creating DIY projects for my home, DIY party ideas, and sharing parenting-related posts.
I am a DIY craft blogger with a passion for energizing and inspiring people to pull out the old sewing machine and create something!
Through my sewing, home décor, and jewelry tutorials, I’m here to show you how to spice up your craft life. I’ll prove to you that it is not intimidating, it doesn’t have to consumer your whole day, and it’s fun!
I’m a blogger, editor, and social media marketing manager based in Portland, OR. AshleyMacQ.com is my personal blog where I post about the things that inspire me, including DIY projects, food, reviews, and photos and stories from my adventures around Portland, and beyond.
I’ve been sewing and crafting for as long as I can remember. If there’s a technique I haven’t tried, it’s probably on my wish list. At my blog, Crafty Staci, I share beginner-friendly craft and sewing tutorials, simple recipes, links to fun things I find elsewhere and my successful, and sometimes not-so-successful, attempts at expressing my own creativity. I find that people who haven’t tried it before are occasionally hesitant to take that first step into making things. I try to guide and inspire them to jump in and not be afraid to make mistakes along the way. I hope to encourage others to create and keep handmade alive and well.

Jennie is a craft-lover who writes about DIY craft projects and creativity on her blog, littlegirldesigns.com. She firmly believes everyone has creativity ingrained in them and how it is expressed is part of the fun of living. She spends her days playing with her toddler, going on walks with her sweet family, and working on craft projects. She has been a maker since childhood and loves the feeling of finishing a project and especially giving it away as a gift.

I grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania watching my mom sew and admiring all hand crafted items. When my three children (all born in Johnstown– and one working at Google today) were young, the friend who watched my children, Yvonne, hand quilted beautifully pieced quilts at her home. With each visit, Yvonne’s quilting skills captured my interest. Over time, I picked up the basic quilt piecing skills and practiced hand quilting, while working on a college degree at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, pursuing part time work, student teaching, and raising my children.
My family and I moved to Keizer, Oregon 20 years ago.
Currently, I work out of a quilt studio and a sewing cabin on my property. I love working with fabric, especially antique fabric and antique quilt tops. Hand quilting, tying quilts, and working with talented machine quilters, I have personal projects I work on, as well as commissioned quilts for clients.
I am an educator who has taught quilt classes, middle school and high school students, English as a Second Language, a Certified Spiritual Director with a Master’s Degree from George Fox Evangelical Seminary, a photographer, a writer, and a speaker at retreats and special events.
My family and I live in Keizer, Oregon, USA
