Hi! My name is Erika and this blog is my place where I keep my inspiration, my favorite memories and most of all, my journey of makings things in both life and art. I am a self taught oil painter and I took the plunge to leave my corporate job in order to paint full time. I show my artwork around town and have been featured in the last three seasons of the television show, “Portlandia.” I am a mommy to my daughter Nora, who was born 7/11/12, which basically means we’re set with free slurpies for life. I have a bearded husband named Tim and have two pretty mischievous pugs. I believe in magic dust and that creativity lives and grows all around us. My secret wish is to lead the best life possible and to live on fast forward.

Coffee and Cardigans is a lifestyle blog that tackles life, style and career for as a 20-something woman.
I’ve been sewing and crafting for as long as I can remember. If there’s a technique I haven’t tried, it’s probably on my wish list. At my blog, Crafty Staci, I share beginner-friendly craft and sewing tutorials, simple recipes, links to fun things I find elsewhere and my successful, and sometimes not-so-successful, attempts at expressing my own creativity. I find that people who haven’t tried it before are occasionally hesitant to take that first step into making things. I try to guide and inspire them to jump in and not be afraid to make mistakes along the way. I hope to encourage others to create and keep handmade alive and well.

She has been a maker since childhood and loves the feeling of finishing a project and especially giving it away as a gift.
At MacSuzie.com, you will find a little bit of everything: cooking/baking, crafts, beauty, home stuff, things for all seasons, family, travel, and a little of the wisdom I pick up along the way. I’d call my style comfortable and homey, with a lot of color. I’m especially inspired by my mom and grandma, and our family’s traditions. I also love things from days gone by (a Buzzfeed quiz aptly placed me in the 50’s), although I’m not exclusively a vintage girl. I love to re-purpose, giving old things a fresh look with a dash of “MacGyver” and a sprinkle of “Suzie Homemaker” thrown in for good measure.

I grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania watching my mom sew and admiring all hand crafted items. When my three children (all born in Johnstown– and one working at Google today) were young, the friend who watched my children, Yvonne, hand quilted beautifully pieced quilts at her home. With each visit, Yvonne’s quilting skills captured my interest. Over time, I picked up the basic quilt piecing skills and practiced hand quilting, while working on a college degree at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, pursuing part time work, student teaching, and raising my children.
My family and I moved to Keizer, Oregon 20 years ago.

Modest Mess is a humor blog created by Megan Premo. She’s a woman, mother, wife and longshoreman-not always in that order. It’s written for people who don’t mind salty language, who like hearing about other lives that might be as crazy as theirs. Stories about trying (and failing) to keep the house clean, surviving parenting with 50/50 custody, DIY crafts, figuring out how to dress in clothes that look good (but still stand up to Cheetoh-fingers and dog hair), swearing and run-on sentences abound.
Here you will find my family’s favorite recipes, DIYs, and all kinds of crafty things, mostly inspired by Pinterest..
