Hello! My name is Erika. I’m in love with making art, collecting old things & chasing after my two kiddos. This blog is a peek into my happy accidents & plots of total world domination.

Hi! My name is Erika and this blog is my place where I keep my inspiration, my favorite memories and most of all, my journey of makings things in both life and art. I am a self taught oil painter and I took the plunge to leave my corporate job in order to paint full time. I show my artwork around town and have been featured in the last four seasons of the television show, “Portlandia.” I am a mommy to my daughter Nora, who was born 7/11/12 and baby Everett, who was born 11/11/14. I have a bearded husband named Tim and have two pretty mischievous pugs. I believe in magic dust and that creativity lives and grows all around us. My secret wish is to lead the best life possible and to live on fast forward.

anumbrellainportland
I am a Spanish girl who came to Portland four years ago following the love of my life. I work in public accounting #CPA, i love my beautiful rescued dog Maui and I am really into fashion. As I am done with my studies and finally starting to discover more places in Portland, I would love to share all my adventures with you. I hope you will like them!

Success occurs when your dreams get bigger than your excuses. For the last four years i had to balance my busy schedule at work with my studies. During that time i sometimes found really hard to find motivation to come back from work and keep myself focused on the books. So one of my motivations was the classic Chanel as a reward for myself whenever i passed my tests. This year it finally happened!! I passed all my exams and my husbands (who suffered with me the long hours of study and weekends in front of the book) surprised me with this beautiful bag. I am really excited because this was always my dream bag and because it represents a big success on my life and my career. As they say – don’t dream about it, work for it and it will happen!

A chronicle of my kitchen creations and my quest to eat mindfully, to slow down and enjoy the smells, textures, and colors of food.

I am on an adventure to mindfully savor food. In my blog I chronicle my kitchen creations and my quest to eat mindfully, to slow down and enjoy the smells, textures, and colors of food. I firmly believe it’s not about what you eat but how you pay attention. Full attention during a meal can mean you derive more satisfaction from just a few bites, than you might get by eating a whole big meal while distracted. I will share what I learn along the way.

Everyday Runaway
Everyday Runaway
Everyday Runaway is a travel, wine and lifestyle blog about my adventures in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

I named my blog Everyday Runaway because I don’t believe you need to quit your job, sell your belongings and live out of a backpack to “runaway” from the mundane, weekly grind of everyday life. Don’t get me wrong, I envy those who have the capability and confidence to take that leap – however, for most of us, that’s not a sustainable lifestyle. So this site caters to the everyday Joe’s and Jane’s who want to make the most of what they have – be it weeks or simply weekends.

Kelly’s Sustainable Life
Sustainable living made easy

Kelly’s Sustainable Life is a space where I take the time to share my thoughts and experiences related to living a lifestyle that allows me to do my part to conserve resources and preserve the planet. I am well aware that the word “sustainable” is overused and misused to the point where it’s meaning has been lost. As much as it is overused, I still believe it is an accurate and succinct way to describe the way I live my life because I want my lifestyle to be attainable by everyone every day, and not something just for those who have the time and financial resources.

Let’s Nom Nom
Let’s Nom Nom
Let’s Nom Nom: restaurant reviews, vegetarian recipes, lifestyle & local events.

Hi, I’m Waz! I recently relocated from New York City to Portland, Oregon. I’m an architect turned graphic designer, and I discovered my love for food while working in advertising for the wine industry. When I moved to NYC in 2011, I started Let’s Nom Nom as to document my cooking and dining adventures in my new city.

Over the years, I’ve gone from flexitarian to vegetarian to mostly vegan, and my blog has followed me on this journey. A plant-based diet is healthier and kinder to my body, to animals, and to our environment. I believe the best way to win omnivores over is by raising awareness of the positive effects of the plant-based movement and by celebrating great food that just so happens to be vegan. Today, my blog focuses on all things veggie, from restaurant reviews, to vegetarian recipes, to lifestyle and local events.

Lastly, why Let’s Nom Nom? Because food brings people together, and great food is best enjoyed with company!

At MacSuzie.com, you will find a little bit of everything: cooking/baking, crafts, beauty, home stuff, things for all seasons, family, travel, and a little of the wisdom I pick up along the way. I’d call my style comfortable and homey, with a lot of color. I’m especially inspired by my mom and grandma, and our family’s traditions. I also love things from days gone by (a Buzzfeed quiz aptly placed me in the 50’s), although I’m not exclusively a vintage girl. Modest Mess
Modest Mess
A humor blog about life as a working mother who survives 50/50 custody by making stuff.

Modest Mess is a humor blog created by Megan Premo. She’s a woman, mother, wife and longshoreman-not always in that order. It’s written for people who don’t mind salty language, who like hearing about other lives that might be as crazy as theirs. Stories about trying (and failing) to keep the house clean, surviving parenting with 50/50 custody, DIY crafts, figuring out how to dress in clothes that look good (but still stand up to Cheetoh-fingers and dog hair), swearing and run-on sentences abound.

Perspectives of a Portlander
Personal Style blog written by a 20 year old college girl with a passion for photography and a bit of a shoe obsession

Upon starting my blog I was a lonely college student in the lovely city of Portland looking to learn more about life and finding my own personal style. Since I have been blogging I not only have a better knowledge of myself, but even more of a love for the city of Portland and what it has to offer for people like me. My mission in blogging is to inspire and motive anyone who has a passion for creating and help those who really just need a cute outfit to wear.

Stripes and Polka Dots
Two twin sisters’ journey in becoming mothers, homemakers, bloggers, and fashion designers.

We’re Sara and Hanna; two mothers with a love for learning, experimenting and making the most of everyday…did we mention we’re also twins! Since we were young girls the need to create was ever present; from re-arranging our bedroom furniture on a weekly basis, sewing a costume for an imaginary game, to building a castle out of cardboard and paper. As we’ve grown to become homemakers and mothers, our passion for learning and crafting continues to burn strong and has expanded in many different areas. While our separate lives have us living 830 miles part, this Blog is a place for us to join our creative minds together again.

The Awkward Olive
Embracing the everyday encounters that give life a little flavor

Its not so much that I thrive on awkward situations, it’s more that I seem to find myself in a lot of them, and thrive anyway… I think that life is all about embracing the every day encounters that give life a little bit of flavor… AKA loving on the little stuff… a lot. Mostly this is a place for me to tell stories about my life, what I’m cooking, crafting, reading, thinking, enjoying, and feeling on any given day. I don’t always proofread, though I probably should start. I like pickles, champagne, peanut sauce, the Red Sox, adventures and some other things. I’ve spend the last seven years directly and indirectly orbiting the Oregon food and wine scene, (delicious!) but mostly I’m just living and loving life in the Willamette Valley. Technically I’m a fashion consultant and boutique manager, but I also teach yoga and barre, and spend a lot of my free time wrangling my troll baby of a bulldog, pretending like I know how to garden, and working on developing my skills as a domestic goddess.

Hi! I’m Tara Howisey and I teach women { and a few men} how to apply high-performance habits, the law of attraction and a dash of magic to transform their lives from stressed and depressed to R-A-D-I-A-N-T!

I live in Portland, OR in the summer and Breckenridge, Colorado in the winter.

I’m an entrepreneur, blogger + YouTuber, landscape designer, and snowboarder.

I believe that life is meant to be fun, easy, and beautiful. We are meant to achieve our dreams. To feel sexy. To be wealthy. To find true love. And now it’s time to share all this sparkly ju-ju with YOU!
My super-powers are spiritually, pleasure-based living, and finding vibrational alignment.

Thirty (or something)
Thirty (or something) – Exploring all the somethings that come around after you turn 30 and become a thirty-something

Its genesis is actually pretty modest–a space for two gentlemen to showcase their wares. And of course, by “wares,” we mean, “Essays chronicling the male thirty-something experience, which consists primarily of the process of becoming an adult and all that entails with the occasional foray into pop culture and other diversions.” And yes, we realize that the Information Super Highway is littered with all manner of thirty-something websites. So what makes this site so special? Well, this site is not just the thirty-something male experience distilled and distorted into an endless cycle of buying shit and trying to bang women. Men have feelings, too, you know. Regrets, fears. Hopes, dreams. A somewhat delicate cocktail shaken together and spiked for good measure with a healthy dash of testosterone. Highly complex, a little volatile, and seldom explored. Fortunately, Serendipity has flashed her brilliant smile and found two best friends who are up to the challenge of reaching into that muck of a cocktail and extracting the hidden gems within. To explore the male thirty-something experience through a unique prism–with feeling–and in the process, learn a little something more about themselves. So sit back and enjoy. Our hope is that the growth of the site will track the evolution of its two protagonists. Your feedback, both praise and criticism, is welcome and appreciated.

Between running a pie truck and painting pictures, rallying three rambunctious children and sneaking moments to savor every last drop of tea in my cup, I write this mini log of what I love to do best—keep my hands busy making something . . .

MARICA NATALI THOMPSON is a make-it-yourself enthusiast. She has spent years refining the art of “do it your own way.” From painting to sewing, cooking to woodworking, learning from doing has always been a staple in her diet.

Starting a family young, and constantly keeping up with the needs of three growing kids, has only made her more inspired to squeeze all the juice she can out of every last odd, end and free moment she can conjure.

Marica Natali Thompson is also the author of Oh My Sweet Baby and One Treat After Another, Escargot Books and Music, as well as the illustrator of The Blue Heron Ranch Cookbook, North Atlantic Books. Yoo Doo Yoo
Yoo Doo Yoo
Learn how to navigate today’s job market like a boss and create a passionate life.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Yoo Doo Yoo sort of happened by accident. My name is Megan Melson and as an enthusiastic twenty-something a few years ago, I was pretty new to the career world and was able to successfully navigate the job market during the peak of the recession…but not without a few bumps in the road. I found myself telling my friends and colleagues all about my experiences. So why not share my stories with the rest of the world? I was really passionate about this stuff and realized that I could help others by sharing my experiences, both good and bad.

So what started as a casual blog became an online passion.

I used to be bummed out by the thought of searching for jobs, applying, interviewing, all of it. I loathed every bit of it. I had endured so many rejections that my confidence was at an all-time low and my motivation was gone. Then things began to change for me and I realized that with the right set of tools and the right mindset, I could make things happen for myself.

I am here to remind you that you can make things happen too, even when you think you can’t. Are you ready for a career change? Do you want to breathe life back into your current position? Maybe you want to be your own boss? You can do any of these things, and I’m here to show you how.

A magazine that celebrates you, just the way you are.

[IN]COMPLETE is a new kind of magazine: one that celebrates you, just the way you are. We believe in the empowerment of all and feature stories from men, women and children – everyone has a voice worth hearing and a story worth telling.
[IN]COMPLETE is a celebration of being present, now. We recognize that we live in a society that is consistently pushing toward the next big goal, and rarely focusing on just how far we’ve come. We believe in goals, in fact we encourage them, but we also believe in slowing down, breathing, and celebrating where we are, now.
At [IN]COMPLETE MAGAZINE we believe:
in the power of positive thinking – that creates positive people – that creates positive action – that creates a positive world
that life is about the small details, and that they all deserve celebration
in magic, love and our own beauty
