11/05/15: Portland Bloggers is currently on hold for all meet-ups and are not monitoring or culling our Master List for updates. We will update once we are live again. If you’d like to add your blog to the list, please fill out the add me form, but know that it may take some time before your posting is live.
8/17/2014: We have updated our Master List to be a user input form. This new form gives YOU more options, allows for searching in the Master List, and allows for you to highlight your blog with sponsored spots. This change will also help to make sure our Master List is always up to date and useful for those searching for Portland Blogs. Due to the change we had to take the old master list off-line. All you need to do to get back on the list is fill in the simple form on the Master List page. We hope you like the new format!
Some FAQ’s about the master list:
Q: I haven’t blogged in a long time. Can I add my blog to the list?
A: We hope to keep the Master List full of current blogs. If you have a blog that has had fairly regular content then we’d love for you to be on the list. A short hiatus is more than acceptable and will not get your blog removed from the list. We hope that this site and our meet-ups encourage you to enjoy blogging and update more often. Blogs updated within the last 3 months are eligible to be put on the list.
Q: I’m a new blogger! Can I add my blog to the list?
A: Welcome! We are so glad that you are joining the ranks of bloggers. All new bloggers are invited to join us at any of the Portland Blogger events. And, bloggers with 3 weeks of regular content (how ever many posts you choose to have) are invited to add their names to the list.
Q: Do I have to put down where I live?
A: We ask that bloggers put where they live in the form because we want all the Portland-area bloggers on the list to be within a reasonable distance from Portland, Oregon. What is a reasonable distance? You be the judge… if you drive to Portland often then you are probably within a reasonable distance!
Q: I live more than a reasonable distance of Portland, Oregon. Can I still be on the list?
A: For now we are keeping the list to the greater Portland area. But, we welcome any and all bloggers who are in the Portland area at the time of one of our meet-ups to attend. If you live in the Pacific Northwest and are a blogger then check out the PNW Blogger blog.
Q: I have a blog that is about sex, but isn’t pornography. Can I be on the master list?
A: We realize that some blogs may have content that are not meant for everyone, but are not necessarily inappropriate content*. We have added an “Adult Only” area on our master list. Blogs wishing to be a part of that area MUST have a splash page that is friendly for all and explains that the site is for adult eyes only. We retain the right to not accept any blogs on this master list. We will contact blogs (if contact information is given) if we have decided not to add your blog for any reason.
Q: There is a place to select PR Friendly… what does that mean?
A: We love that we have a resource for local businesses and PR clients to find local Portland Bloggers easily. If you like to work with businesses or PR firms then please select PR Friendly. Now it will be searchable through the list which is fantastic for local businesses!
Q: I’ve already filled out this form once, but I don’t see it on the list!
A: If you put your blog on the Master List before we switched systems then your blog was not added to the new system. We were not able to go through all 300+ listings and manually enter them. We apologize! But, this new system will give you much more control over your listing.
Q: My blog fits more than one category. Can I put it on more than one page?
A: Yes! Due to our new format you can select up to three different categories that fit your blog!
*Blogs that contain inappropriate content such as pornography, excessive foul language, or inappropriate content will not be added to the Portland Blogger’s Master List with the discretion of the Portland Bloggers website owners.
